A Japan trip is a significant investment, so it helps to know exactly what you are paying for.
This page sets out what our small-group Japan tours actually cost, what is included in that price, what to budget for separately, and why a guided small-group tour is priced the way it is.
Every figure here is a real, published price — no 'from' teasers that vanish when you go to book.
Worth noting:

Our prices are built to cover the things that make a trip work day to day, so there are no nasty surprises once you arrive.
When you compare us with another operator, check what their headline price leaves out — internal transport and meals in particular add up quickly in Japan.

It is fair to ask why a guided small-group tour costs more per day than a large coach tour.
The answer is in what you are buying: fewer people sharing each guide, real rail travel instead of a budget coach, included experiences rather than optional add-ons, and a team that personally inspects every hotel and activity.
Japan itself is not a cheap destination — rail travel, quality accommodation and small-group economics all carry a real cost.
Rail travel — Japan's trains are superb but not cheap, and they are included
Small-group economics — fewer travellers per guide and per departure
Included meals and entrance fees — bundled in, not billed later
Luggage forwarding between hotels on many trips
Hand-picked accommodation, personally inspected
Expert guides, many living and working in Japan
