In 2000, during university, Andre co-organized a trip for 15 students to Ecuador. The impact was immediate: travellers came back transformed. The idea quickly took root that this could be something more.
By September 2001, our first brand, Viventura, had taken shape. By May 2002, our very first small-group journey across Peru, Bolivia and Chile set off. There were no investors and no easy routes, just commitment, care, and itineraries drafted quite literally by hand.
Even before that maiden departure, we began supporting community projects in Peru under what would later become the V Social Foundation. From the outset, Ventura was built on a simple principle: responsibility first, business second.
Today, the Ventura family includes several specialist brands, each led by local experts who live and breathe their destinations.

We’re now bringing Ventura’s approach to the UK, making it easier for British travellers to explore the world with the depth and warmth our teams are known for.
You’ll book directly with the people who design the trips, not a middleman. That means clearer communication, better value, and tours built with insight, care, and decades of on-the-ground experience.
Our UK team exists for one reason: to help you discover the world in a way that feels personal, effortless, and enriching.

At Ventura, we believe travel should feel human. Our philosophy is simple:
Small groups that open doors rather than overwhelm communities
Real connections with the people and places you’ve travelled so far to meet
Unique moments crafted by local knowledge, not trends
Deep cultural understanding so you return home with stories that stay with you
We guide you through every step, removing uncertainty, enriching each moment, making sure your journey feels meaningful from start to finish and leaving a positive impact on the communities we connect with as a result.

We firmly believe that travel should benefit everyone involved. That’s why we set up vSocial, our foundation dedicated to supporting community-based tourism around the world.
To date, with help from travellers just like you, we've raised over €1 million which we've invested in over 25 different initiatives around the world.
Every Ventura journey helps fund projects that empower local communities, creating lasting income, preserving traditions, and ensuring cultures thrive, not just survive.
Our commitment is clear: when you travel with Ventura, your journey has a positive impact long after you return home.

An immersion in Japan, close to everyday realities. Exciting getaways off the beaten track, including stays with locals, in remote locations, or even in a Buddhist temple. A dive into vast metropolises — sometimes sprawling, even impersonal — using public transport. I was fascinated by the social organisation of [the] country…the management of traffic flows, self-discipline in public spaces, and respect for the rules and codes of politeness that structure the daily lives of the Japanese. I particularly enjoyed visiting temples, memorial sites, parks and gardens, as well as discovering the often wild nature of a country whose terrain is predominantly mountainous. (Patrick S. - October 2025)
Truly, this trip from Fukuoka to Tokyo was the trip of a lifetime. Our guide…gave us excellent advice and guidance throughout the trip. All the essentials of Japan were there: the warm atmosphere of Fukuoka, the night in a monastery (an extraordinary sensory experience), the night with a host family (with the sushi-wrap party), Hiroshima, Miyajima and Itsukushima Shrine, Nara and Byodo-in, the history of Kyoto and its superb temples (Fushimi-Inari was my favourite), the village of Takayama, Tokyo…It was an exciting and interesting trip, an extraordinary and super-sensory getaway. On the other hand, yes, you walk a lot, but that's the game, you have to earn your drink and your meal! So I give it a well-deserved 5 stars! (Yoann P. - May 2025)
